Conwy Beekeepers have set up a new apiary at the Solar Park near Kinmel Bay.
We have been working on this project with the site management for almost two years, going through planning permission, construction, risk assessments etc. The large site should be good for bees, with plenty of oil seed rape nearby and good for apiary training, with access from the A547.
The apiary site is within the perimeter of the solar farm, fenced off from the electrical kit and panels and with separate access. The site is protected by CCTV.
We hope to attract support from new and existing beekeepers in the east of Conwy county, complementing the existing Conwy Beekeepers’ apiary at Tal y Cafn near Conwy.
We are looking for volunteers to help run the apiary.
